Guadalajara is the capital city of the state of Jalisco, Mexico and is the birthplace of the three most important Mexican symbols: the Mariachi, Tequila and the Mexican Charro (rodeo). The city is also famous for its passion for soccer, with 3 professional 1st league teams, making soccer the most popular sport in the city.

 

The local teams are: Guadalajara, also called Chivas (goats), Atlas, also called Zorros (fox) and the Autonoma University of Guadalajara, also called Tecos (owls). Each one of these teams has their own stadium: Jalisco Stadium for 60,000 people, Omnilife or Chivas Stadium for 45,000 and 3rd of March Stadium for 25,000 people.
